A powerful theatric production that walks through the lives of a cast of lesbians. Documenting our everyday life experience and struggles. View the website to find out dates and show times. Some of DC’s own are featured in this play so we must support this production!

Based in Hong Kong this movie directed by Yan Yan Mak tells the story of Flavia, a married woman who has an internal battle with her sexuality. Things are escalated when she meets Yip and it forces her to face what she's known all along, she’s a lesbian. But her marriage and what society deems acceptable brings obstacles to this new found love.

Deemed the female counter part to “Paris is Burning” this film, directed by Daniel Peddle, documents the lives of six women who live their lives as"aggressives". These women vary from bois who date trannies, to thugged out dykes, to a bike messenger who models for commercial magazines. This film highlights a part of the lesbian community that rarely gets represented properly in the media.

Okay technically it’s not a “gay film” but damned if it didn’t have deafening gay overtones. This is the story of a man who, with the help of his now gay ex-fiancé, stumbles upon a novel way to make a lot of money fast. Impregnate lesbians. Spike Lee is the only main stream director I know of who could tackle such a controversial story line with any kind of finesse.

From director Colette Burson this modern day spin on the Cinderella fairytale sparks a flame between the high school “It” girl and anti-social out caste. Donned in a borrowed tuxedo this cross-dressing Cinderella unknowingly sweeps her dream girl off her feet and leaves nothing but a black boot behind as a clue to her true identity.

The age-old lesbian quagmire...falling for your best friend. Who hasn’t been there at some point or another? Drunk with love and desire you count the hours until you see her again, her smile, her walk and ohh the smell of her perfume. Director Ligy J. Pullappally shows us what it's like trying to love a woman in a society where only an arranged marriage between a man and a woman is an acceptable form of romantic union.

A documentary from director Debra A. Wilson, this short film attempts to demystify some of the stereotypes and misconceptions that surround “butch” or “dom” women in the lesbian community. There’s ample discussion around what exactly signifies butch. Is it short hair, masculine mannerisms, wearing men’s clothing? The cast of this documentary shares vast and cross-generational views on the subject.
